ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS
California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for
the above Administrator II position.
The University: California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State

The Position: Under the general direction of the Director of
Admissions and Recruitment, the Associate Director of Admissions is
a key member of the Admissions leadership team. The incumbent will:
develop, implement, supervise, and evaluate all aspects of daily
admissions operations for undergraduate, graduate, and
international applicants; direct and lead all admissions
operations; analyze and monitor the unit's budget; research,
analyze and interpret state and federal codes and CSU policies;
research latest best practices to create, review and revise
business processes to maximize efficiency; direct and make
necessary adjustments to staff workflow assignments to ensure
responsible coordination across units; and coordinate admissions
practices for special populations; work closely with the Admissions
Systems team to implement new technological solutions; and
coordinate with other campus offices to ensure effective business
operations and service to students. The incumbent will also: hire,
train, lead and evaluate staff to create and maintain an effective
team, with emphasis on professionalism and excellence in student
service; set expectations and performance benchmarks for staff;
advise and counsel students, parents, and staff; resolve complex
and difficult issues that impact the office, students, and the
campus community; serve as the liaison and point of contact for the
CSU Chancellor Office on key admissions-related matters; and
collaborate with university faculty, staff, personnel, and other
on- and off-campus partners to achieve university strategic
enrollment goals. Occasional evening or weekend work as well as
off-campus overnight travel may be required.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an
accredited four-year college or university. Five years of
experience leading the work of others, which includes most recent
position. Experience coordinating an operational unit in a large,
fast paced environment and working with a diverse population of
employees. Experience and thorough knowledge of California
Education Code, Title V and CSU admission and external credit
policies. PC proficiency-knowledge of software packages such as
Microsoft Office as well as familiarity with PeopleSoft CMS (GET
SA), Cal State Apply, and imaging software/ application (Hyland
OnBase). Must possess effective leadership skills; excellent
interpersonal and oral/written communication skills; and initiative
and resourcefulness to plan work and implement long-range
improvements. Ability to: establish processes and create business
guides to explain routine procedures; establish and maintain
cooperative working relationships; explain policies and procedures
to others, and effectively respond to inquiries; resolve problems
of considerable difficulty where alternative solutions are not
readily available, or where guidelines and precedents do not exist;
and interpret and apply policies and procedures. Incumbent must
demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a
multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check
(including a criminal records check) must be completed
satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with
the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check
may affect the application status of applicants or continued
employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the
position.
California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU
system, is a State of California Employer. As such, the University

California. As of January 1, 2022 the CSU Out-of-State Employment
Policy prohibits the hiring of employees to perform CSU-related
work outside the state of California.
Desired Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited
four-year college or university; Effective advisement techniques
and general knowledge of the principles of individual and group
behavior.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Salary range is $4,583 - $14,713/monthly. A
comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under
the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the
California State University. All rights and benefits associated
with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel
Plan.
This position is a "designated position" in the California State
University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate
accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest
forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices
Commission.
